China Blue Collection from Jan Constantine
Admittedly, we still have quite a few months to go before the summer arrives…
But this week I thought I’d share Jan Constantine‘s China Blue collection with you, so that we can start to look forward to clear blue skies and shimmering seas.
And what a beautiful shade of cobalt blue Jan’s used…
The range includes cushions, throws and tea cosies made from luxurious wool and linen. And they’re embroidered with motifs such as the ubiquitous willow pattern, hearts, birds and blossoms.
Here are the beautiful cushions from the collection:
If I had to choose a favourite cushion, it would be the one immediately above called ‘Apple Blossom’.
It depicts a branch of apple blossom beautifully hand embroidered in china blue wool.
The centres of the flowers are intricate French knots and delicate stitching.
The cushion is edged in rich blue blanket stitch. And the top and bottom of the cushion has a detailed border of crosses and triangle stitch work.
With inspiration from old English blue and white china, and strong Oriental influences, wouldn’t the cushions make a lovely addition to your home and sofa this spring?
