We think The Hideaway is an excellent option if you’re looking for a classic afternoon tea experience; it’s such a bright and cheerful cafe. We recently celebrated a birthday here, the table was set beautifully, and there was so much food and endless tea and coffee. There was a selection of sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, eclairs, mini lemon tarts, trifles, cupcakes, so much choice! The staff are lovely and chatty, and the cosy atmosphere makes it the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon treat. It’s recommended to book in advance, as they typically require a 24-hour notice for afternoon tea reservations. Located in Burton Marketplace, this café offers various fresh cakes and treats at affordable prices. Friends and family have been visiting Helen’s Bakehouse and Tea Room for years, especially for their delicious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea options. The menu at Summerhouse Bakery is filled with freshly prepared breakfast items, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, and homemade cakes. The bakery was founded in 2014 by Tracey Heap in Burton upon Trent. We recently tried afternoon tea here, and we were so pleased with the well-made sandwiches with a great choice of fillings, a home-baked scone with clotted cream and jam, and a cake of their choice. All the items were stunning and well-executed, and we enjoyed it with a grand cup of tea.
