Red for Bars
Warm, enticing, stimulating and inspires thirst and conversation, what could be a better colour for bars. Red. Bars where we gather to meet friends, have a drink, laugh and share stories. They become a center of a neighborhood, center of a small town, and hold a village together.
They become a fashionable and trendy place where everyone has to meet and be seen and become part of a scene.
Having had a hand in designing bars, many elements go into it, the material of the bar, the lights, very important, but the colour has a psychological effect and that is why red is so frequent a colour in bars. It stimulates conversation, it is warm and make a place feel cosy.
These are paintings by Emma Rubens painted of a bar in Mexico.
