Midcentury vibe at Lords
If Midcentury design is your thing then there is a real treat in store for you this Sunday if you’re in London. Lords’ Cricket ground is playing host to Midcentury Modern fair. There will be more than 50 dealers on the day so to get the choicest pieces I recommend getting there early – doors open at 10am (and the weather is planning to be nice too!).

In its second outing to Lords’, the one-day show will have some iconic pieces for the home. Lovers of design classics will be able to pick up designs of hero’s such as Hans j Wegner, Charles Eames, Arne Jacobsen, George Nelson and Robin Day. There are plenty of dealer’s I’ve bought from in the past exhibiting including Omnipod, London Timepiece and Firefly House these guys know their stuff and are very happy to share their knowledge.

This year’s show also coincides with the arrival of a haul of vintage Italian furniture with a Danish influence c.1951, directly salvaged from an ocean liner. Trinity Maritime has sourced 850 pieces of timeless furniture and chairs from the ship and has chosen The Midcentury Show as the place to show it off.
From the fair you’ll also be able to gaze upon the stunning Stirling Prize winner Media pod by Future Systems. If you haven’t seen it before it’s really quite lovely and will be an interesting contrast to all the midcentury shapes on show.
