Laura Ashley
Last evening at the DB Collective meet up we had the pleasure to meet two lovely ladies, Emma and Katie, from Laura Ashley. We chatted about their products, how I always liked their fabrics and the 60th anniversary is coming to this company. Wow, has it been 60 years!
Laura Ashley started as a fashion company with printed scarves then graduated into clothing and had a great success with the Victoriana style in the 70′s. In the 80′s they launched their home furnishings with equal success.
Over the years I have ordered many meters of their fabrics for window, sofas and chairs. Always pretty but patterns, colours and textures that give you some flexibility in creating a scheme that make it personal to the client. They created styles that can be relaxed for the country or tailored for the city. and with imagination you could create your own style.
A selection of some of their recent collections:
Printed fabrics and wallpaper: Kimono Floral Cotton/Linen, Oriental Garden wallpaper, Silver Birch woven fabric
Fabrics: Bacall linen/viscose mix, charcoal, grey silk, Hawthorn silk/polyester printed fabric
Fabrics: Red velvet, gray silk, charcoal linen/viscose
