Introducing Garden Requisites
I came across Garden Requisites in the latest edition of the Garden Design Journal and when I had a look at their website I was instantly drawn to the porch and door canopies.
Based in Bath, Somerset, they design and make iron and wire work pieces for use both inside and out.
I think the metalwork looks particularly lovely against the stone walls of this house…
Of course these are not strictly in the garden, but the house or building forms such an important role and it’s these finer details that can really help to connect the two together.
I also really like the wire trellis which is made to measure and hand-woven…
These panels have a much lighter feel than timber, dividing a space without cutting out the light.
Other garden elements include gazebos, archways and window boxes and they also make planters.
Imagine this gazebo covered in scented plants - I think it needs foliage to soften the metalwork, something like the rose over the archway below would work.
On the subject of archways, I also love the tunnel effect this series of wide archways creates…
Something like this would look fabulous with wisteria or laburnum trained over – I’ve seen this done before and the flowers hang spectacularly, just like jewels.
