Inspired by spring – tips to bring your home to life with colour
Spring has arrived at last! Now that there’s a little more light highlighting those dusty corners, is it time to brighten up your home with a new look – perhaps a fresh lick of paint and some decorating?
Look no further than your very own garden for some natural inspiration! There you’ll see the cheerful, uplifting, colours of spring bursting in to life: scarlet, coral, peach, daffodil yellow, emerald green, sky blue, cobalt blue and lilac. Bring these outside colours in to your home to create a bright, fun and vibrant look and feel to your surroundings. Look to Designers Guild for lovely ‘spring’ colour paints such as linen, meadow, almond, pistachio, dew, duck egg and petal.
Interior decorating schemes using the light, bright colours of spring coordinate well with lighter coloured woods and ceramics, fine or crisp textures and small patterns or prints. The clear, crisp elements of Swedish, Nordic and Scandinavian home and interiors styles are influenced by these qualities of light.
Be inspired by the soft pastel colours of Easter too. Pastel colours can be easier to experiment with if you’re trying out new colours in your home. When you’re feeling ready to experiment a little more, try mixing pastel tints with the odd splash of brighter colour for sparkle and interest and tap into another key interior design colour trend!
