Floral-inspired mugs by Dee Hardwicke

This week I’m delighted to feature floral-inspired mugs from ceramic artist Dee Hardwicke.

Dee studied fine art painting and sculpture at Glasgow School of Art and then did an apprenticeship with a potter in Monmouthshire.

She takes inspiration for her lovely designs from the gardens and countryside surrounding her home, which is nestled between the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons.

Here is some more of her work which includes flowers such as daisies, dill and tulips…

These products are available in selected shops, including places like John Lewis.  And they’re available via Dee’s website.

As well as her tableware designs, Dee has a range of stationery, some of which is launching in Waterstones this spring. The collection includes beautiful notecards, gift bags and notebooks.

This summer also sees the launch of a book of knitting projects called ‘Dee Hardwicke’s Little Colour Knits’ inspired by Dee’s designs, many having a floral theme.

She also creates collectable buttons, ceramic tiles, rugs, flooring and contemporary hand knits.

And she takes on private commissions which include producing an outdoor feature for Wigmore Abbey in Herefordshire, and a triptych of Saint David that’s installed in Monmouth School’s chapel.

If you’d like to keep up-to-date with Dee’s news, she’s on Twitter.  And she’s also on Pinterest.
