Floral-inspired cushions by Imogen Heath

This week I’m featuring beautiful floral-inspired cushions by textile, surface pattern designer & illustrator, Imogen Heath.
Imogen has been a textile designer since 2004 and she started her own design studio last June with the support of The Prince’s Trust.

Her business has grown rapidly and her work caught the attention of UK retailer Heal’s, who commissioned her to design an exclusive range of cushions for their Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
Imogen’s recent collection, included in this week’s blog post, is influenced by the journey which she frequently takes between her home in Brighton and her parents’ home in France:
‘I used to spend every school holiday sitting in the same meadow, whiling away the time with simple sketches of my surroundings.
Now I am older, I still visit that same meadow and draw. I see it change though all the seasons, presenting something intriguing and new to me every time I visit.
When I return to my home in Brighton, my day starts with the calls of the same sea birds and ends with the chatter of the starlings racing past my window. I cannot see the sea from my window, but it is just moments from my doorstep.’
The names of these floral-inspired designs include Meadow, Dahlia and Rosa.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing Imogen’s cushions. If you’d like to keep up-to-date with her news, she’s on Twitter and Facebook.
