Beautiful Artisan Retreats by Kaffe Fassett and Orla Kiely at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Today’s blog post features two beautiful Artisan Retreats which were created especially for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2012 last week.

It was the first time that the retreats had been at the show and the aim was to inspire visitors to create their own outside space in their garden.

Above is the retreat created by textile designer Kaffe Fassett, called ‘Needlepoint Haven’.  It’s designed as a place for people to do needlework in.

The explosion of colour from all the textiles on display was so captivating and I especially loved the wing chair covered in needlepoint images of flowers, fruit and vegetables.

Here are some more images…

The second retreat in today’s blog post was created by designer Orla Kiely and is called ‘Vintage Inspired Retreat’.

It was designed to be a place in which to read, think, be inspired and relax.  In particular, I loved the little trolley outside, filled with plant pots.

There were five Artisan Retreats in total.  The others were designed by Annabel Lewis of VV Rouleaux, Vicki Conran and florist Nikki Tibbles of Wild at Heart.

If you’d like to see images of Nikki’s retreat, simply pop over to my blog, Flowerona.

All the buildings were made by The Malvern Collection. I think I need to start saving now as I would absolutely love to have a retreat at the bottom of our garden…wouldn’t you?
